artwork
I enjoyed playing this week. I had been wanting to make some sort of artwork this week involving things that I've reused. I used leftover fabric that looks like canvas, and then went to work. This piece of artwork went to a close friend of mine who is due with her second child in a couple of weeks. The leaves were taken from old magazines, and I had leftover paint from some house-projects. Overall it was very rewarding using the gifts that God has given me to make something special for my friend.

Today I found out that you can eat violets! Just be sure that they're organic!
There are so many other great ideas on her website, that I highly recommend that you check it out:

Sunny Flower Garden
I love those creeping garden phlox! They are a great ground cover and I planted them last year and they have tripled in size!
The middle of this flower bed is constantly changing. I want to plant more annuals here, but I seem to be getting handed a lot of perennials lately, so I might just place them there.
I would like to stick with purple and white in this flower bed. But time will tell...
100 Daffodils bulbs!
I've been working at least 5 hours a day out in my flower/veggie garden beds. It's been so refreshing and exhausting at the same time.
Today was a Spring Clean Up day at the church, and so I put in my 3 hours there, helping realign some bricks in a flower garden, etc. I always come home with some sort of plant when I help out there. And today I brought home about 100 Daffodil bulbs!! A couple of Sundrop plants and a random bush (that I have no idea what it is).
I went ahead and planted all the bulbs in front of our bushes facing the westside of our home. They have already flowered for the year, so I will have to wait till next year to really enjoy them. But I'm sure that will come in no time flat!
I also planted these bulbs here is because I feel like those bushes are so BORING!! And my husband always complains when I plant flowers in front of the bushes, because he can't trim them in the summer...so, problem solved:
The daffodils will die back at the end of the Spring, and my husband won't have a cow that I planted flowers there!!
